Two-day trip to Springfield from June 19 to 20
- The tour includes a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Lincoln's Home, an overnight stay at Drury Inn, and a tour of the Dana-Thomas House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
- The package includes round-trip transportation, one dinner, one breakfast, and one lunch, and guided tours.
- The cost is $499 per person for single occupancy and $449 per person for double occupancy.

💠 Day 1: Wednesday, June 19

Accessibility Details for Today
- The Presidential Museum requires moderate walking, but there are benches available throughout.
- The tour of Lincoln’s Home includes stairs to access the second floor. There are no elevators. The walk between the Visitor’s Center and the home is partially solid and partially loose gravel.
This morning, we board our luxury motorcoach and travel to Springfield, which was Abraham Lincoln's home for 24 years.
First, we visit the amazing Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
- This museum tells the story of Lincoln's life. It starts from his childhood home, goes through his campaign for US President, his time as President during the Civil War, and ends with his assassination and his lying in state at the Old State Capitol in Springfield.
- The Museum boasts hi-tech exhibits, interactive displays, and multimedia programs. You must visit the two special effects theaters. Experience the 1860 Presidential Election as if it were happening today with television news coverage and campaign commercials.
Lunch can be enjoyed at the Lincoln Café inside the Museum.
After visiting the Presidential Museum, we go to Lincoln's house. It's in a neighborhood with homes that have been restored to look like they did in the 1860s.
- Lincoln’s Home has been completely restored to its 1860 appearance. National Park Service Rangers conduct tours of the home.
Check into the hotel, enjoy a free Happy Hour, and then have dinner.
After visiting the Lincoln Home, we check into the Drury Inn.
At 5:30pm, the Drury Inn hosts a "Happy Hour" with complimentary adult beverages and snacks.
Following "Happy Hour,” we enjoy dinner at the Chesapeake Seafood House in a restored home built in 1857.
💠 Day 2: Thursday, June 20

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we visit Lincoln’s Tomb in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
- This is the final resting place for President Lincoln, his wife Mary, and three of their four sons.
Explore the Dana-Thomas House - A Frank Lloyd Wright Masterpiece
- Constructed between 1902 and 1904 for Springfield socialite Susan Lawrence Dana, the house remains unchanged since its construction.
- The 12,000 square foot residence features 35 rooms across three levels, with 16 different levels in total.
- Over 100 original pieces of Wright-designed white oak furniture are displayed. Wright also designed the art glass windows, doors, light fixtures, and lamps, incorporating over 450 pieces of art glass made by the Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company in Kokomo, IN.
Today's lunch will be at Maldaners Restaurant in downtown Springfield, a place with a history dating back to 1894.
Visit to the Old State Capitol, Springfield
- Functioned as the statehouse from 1840 to 1876. Here, we will tour the state library as well as the chambers for the Supreme Court, House of Representatives, and Senate.
- Lincoln's body was displayed in the House of Representatives chamber on May 3 and 4, 1865, with approximately 75,000 residents paying their respects. Notably, Springfield's population in 1865 was only 9,320.
Return Journey Details and Expected Arrival Time at Hoosier Village
In the late afternoon, we leave Springfield and begin our journey to Hoosier Village. We plan to make a quick stop at Culver’s for fast food along the way.
We plan to arrive at Hoosier Village around 8:00pm.
